Adding Your Own Voice from ElevenLabs

How to Add a Voice

Step 1: Find a voice on ElevenLabs

  1. Go to https://elevenlabs.io
  2. Browse or search for a voice you like
  3. On the voice's page, click the Share button
  4. Copy the share link

  1. Open a character voice picker or the universe narrator voice picker
  2. Click "Missing a voice? Add one" to expand the import section
  3. Paste the ElevenLabs share link into the input field
  4. Click Add voice

The voice will be imported and immediately available in your voice list.

Managing Your Voices

The import section shows how many voice slots you've used (for example, "2/3 used") and lists the voices you've added. You can see each voice's name and description.

If you've reached your limit, you'll need to upgrade to a higher plan for more slots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can other users on LongStories use voices I've added?

Yes. Once a voice is added, it becomes available in the voice catalog for everyone. You're contributing to the shared library.

What if the voice I'm adding is already available?

You'll see a message saying "This voice is already available." No voice slot is consumed.

Any share link from ElevenLabs should work. The system handles various URL formats. Just make sure the link is from elevenlabs.io.

What happens if something goes wrong during import?

If the import fails for any reason, no voice slot is consumed and the system cleans up after itself. You can try again.

I'm on Starter — can I add voices?

Starter includes voice slots, but voice selection isn't available on that tier. Upgrade to Plus or above to use custom voices.

How do I get more voice slots?

Upgrade your plan. You can do this from the upgrade prompt in the import section or from the pricing page.
